A Japanese sword measuring 54 cm in length, attributed to the late Muromachi period (c. 1550–1600). The blade shows forging flaws (kitae-ware) along the back, consistent with practical battlefield use of the era. It is mounted in a World War II Japanese Army Type 98 Gunto koshirae, with a leather-covered scabbard, and comes with an additional plain wooden shirasaya storage scabbard. The tsuka is fitted with uncommon sharkskin, instead of the more typical ray skin.
