This blade is signed by Hiroshige (廣重), a smith of the Shitahara school active during the 17th century Edo period. The blade measures 55.1 cm in length and features a refined suguha hamon with light midare—characteristic of practical Shitahara workmanship. The forging pattern (hada) appears to be a tight itame, with subtle activity visible under light.

Mounted in World War II-era Imperial Japanese Navy officer fittings, the sword includes a rare vermilion ishime-style saya—a textured, matte lacquer finish seldom seen on naval mounts.

The accompanying shirasaya bears an inscription indicating the sword once held a Tokubetsu Kicho Token (Especially Precious Sword) designation from the NBTHK, though the original certificate is no longer present.
