This sword is signed by Fujiwara Nagayuki, a swordsmith active in the late Muromachi period around the Tenshō era (1573–1592). It retains its original civilian saya, later reinforced with a leather cover for military use. Some fittings were replaced with Imperial Japanese Army-style hardware, making it a rare example of a traditional blade adapted for modern wartime service.
