This is an unsigned Japanese katana with a blade length of 66.1 cm and a pronounced curvature of 2.0 cm. The blade features a straight hamon and is equipped with a fuller, contributing to both structural balance and reduced weight.

The nakago shows three mekugi-ana (one filled), indicating multiple remountings over time. The blade was shortened (suriage) from an earlier form. The overall sugata, curvature, and workmanship are consistent with a Muromachi-period utilitarian sword, likely dating to the 15th–16th century when durable, battle-ready blades were in demand.

The sword is mounted in Type 98 guntō koshirae with an early version iron scabbard. The combination of an older traditionally forged blade in wartime mounts reflects a continued functional history across periods.
