An authentic Japanese katana dating to the Muromachi period (1336–1573), preserved in healthy condition and retaining the elegant characteristics of the era. The blade measures 68.9 cm in length with a graceful sori of 1.8 cm, presenting a well-balanced and practical form typical of swords made for actual battlefield use.
The blade is unsigned and features a refined suguha hamon, a straight temper line highly regarded for its understated elegance and association with classical Japanese sword traditions. The overall sugata exhibits the dignified proportions characteristic of late Koto-period workmanship.
The sword is mounted in an Imperial Japanese Navy officer Kaigunto mounts.
