This sun-nobi tantō represents the practical sword-making traditions of Mino Province during the late Muromachi period. Measuring 28.3 cm in length, the blade displays a well-balanced fighting form characteristic of the Sengoku era.

Forged in a flowing itame-hada, the blade features an attractive gunome-midare hamon strongly associated with the Mino tradition. The lively temper pattern and robust construction reflect the functional aesthetics favored by warriors of the sixteenth century.

With its distinctive koto character and martial appearance, this blade is an appealing example of a late Muromachi Mino-style tantō, preserving the spirit of Japan's age of warring states.
