This is a mumei tantō of kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri form, measuring 18.7 cm in length. The blade shows a compact and practical sugata with minimal curvature, typical of close-combat sidearms.
The hamon appears as a gentle notare with slight irregular variations, and the jigane suggests a somewhat coarse itame mix, indicating a functional rather than highly decorative forging style. The nakago is well-patinated, supporting age.
Based on these characteristics, it is likely from the late Muromachi to early Edo period (16th–17th century).
