This traditionally forged Japanese tantō measures 25.9 cm in blade length, with approximately 0.3 cm of sori. Forged in the distinctive katakiriba-zukuri style, it has a broad and exceptionally robust construction, measuring approximately 27 mm at the motohaba with a substantial 5.5 mm kasane. The blade displays a fine and tightly forged jihada and a restrained suguha-based hamon with only subtle undulation. Combined with its very shallow curvature and powerful proportions, the overall workmanship suggests an early Edo-period attribution, possibly reflecting the revival of classical and archaic blade forms during the early Shinto period. The heavily rusted nakago retains predominantly horizontal yasurime.
